Why has Pacific Cleaning been in business for over 30 years?

Because we have a really good relationship with all of our customers.  Cathleen is sincere and accomodating to callers and keeps on top of projects and paperwork.  Robin gives 110% in the field and knows from years of experience, how to tackle the job.  Our employee's, who are paid more than minimum wage, take pride in themselves and in their work.  When, from time to time, we either get a really nasty customer or a renegade employee, neither lasts long with us because we don't tolerate "bad energy!"

Securing Service Dates in the Spring and Summer

At this time of year, our wndow cleaning business is "off the charts" with service appointments booked up for 2-3 weeks.  It's important to call in advance to secure a service date.    When I have to turn down service because the customer wants it "this week", I comment that the only frustrating aspect of running a small business is that we simply are booked up from 1-3 weeks in the summer.  The good news is that most of our work comes from high-end businesses or residents who are willing to wait to receive personal treatment, impeccable work, and the same men coming to see them, year after year.  Like our style?  BOOK EARLY!

Some Q&A About Hand Sanitizers

Facilities managers posed the following questions to manufacturers of hand sanitizers:

How many sanitizers are needed at a facility?
Locale is important----Every entryway, heavily traveled areas and in schools, each classroom

What's better - quat-based or alcohol based sanitizers?
Quat-based have risk of causing allergies and can leave sticky residue but are not flamable and contain no alcohol.  Alcohol based sanitizers have been proven to kill 99.99 percent or more of micro-organisms.

Should kids in school be allowed to use sanitizers?
Yes!  When soap and water are not available, alcohol based sanitizer is next best thing

CHEAP CHOICE FOR PRESSURE WASHING

We recently lost a bid for pressure washing a home-owner's property.  When I inquired to the General as to why, here's the answer I got:

"The owners hired two guys with a pressure washer and dirty rags.  Got water in the doors and windows and the windows are worse than before.  Other than that, they did a great job but I was embarrassed to have guys like that around.  But it was the Owner's choice.  Your price looked fine to me but they thought they could do it cheaper.  Oh and I forgot, it took these guys 3 days.

We Are A Member of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce

One of the great benefits of our membership the Sausalito Chamber is that we can use the Chamber's B2B e-Newsletter to post promotions or mention a special event.  Though we are not the type of business to have special events, we are hoping to put together a Summer Promotional this year.  Stay Tuned!

The Three P's of Disinfecting

PRODUCT - PROCEDURE- PLACE
As a commercial custodial group, it's a must!  We use only disinfectants that are registered by the EPA.  We are not a vinegar and water cleaning outfit, but our product lines are approved and the real deal.  Each product calls for the proper procedure to use it.  For example, a disinfectant used on kitchen counter tops needs "dwell time".  To spray it on, only to wipe it off, does not good.  The places we clean are important as well.  We often point out to the customer that high traffic areas in offices should be cleaned nightly.  Other surfaces that can promote germs are desks, tables, chairs, benches, lockers, toys, door knobs, light swtiches, sinks, and more.

GREEN BUILDUP ON DECKS AND DRIVEWAYS

DECKS AND DRIVEWAYS that have a blanket of green algae from wet and short winter days can be dangerous to walk on.  Check your property!  Depending on the material and size of the slippery spot, pressure washing or just plain elbow grease w/a mild solution, can usually remove the green.  Note:  Our pressure washer crew is trained.     Use caution if you choose not to go professional .  Pressure washers washers can tear up paint and wood if not used correctly.

Valentine's Gift I'll Always Remember

When I was dating Robin, he surprised me with the most memorable Valentine's gift!  I returned home from a trip to a clean apartment!  Not only did he do the regular janitorial stuff--- he cleaned my windows and shampooed my carpet as well.  WOW!  It was wonderful to come home to such a clean place and I was so thrilled that this guy (whom I later married) would be so keen and thoughtful.  Happy Valentine's Everyone!
